Wallop Primary School would like to recruit a permanent, part-time Caretaker/Cleaner to join our school.

 

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person who takes pride in their work and has high standards, so that our children can learn in a clean and safe environment. We are looking for a positive, proactive, reliable and practical person to join our dedicated team to keep our site clean and safe.

Salary Type: Support Staff

Salary Details: Grade C Pro Rata and dependent upon experience

Salary Pro-Rata: 12806

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week (split shift) 07:00-09:00, 15:30 - 18:30, Monday to Friday, 52 week contract

Job/Person Summary

We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to take care of our school site to help keep it clean, healthy and safe. 

We need a reliable, organised, flexible and efficient person to join our team.

The successful candidate should enjoy working in a child friendly environment, have a good sense of humour, be pro-active and take as much pride in our school and grounds as we do.

The successful candidate will be responsible for regular health and safety checks (training will be provided), liaising with contractors, responsible for site security and work alongside minor maintenance issues, grounds maintenance and work alongside our in-house cleaner who will share the cleaning of the school with you.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to effectively manage the school site, buildings and grounds

  • Be the principal key holder, responsible for access to, and security of, the school site including emergency and out of hours call-outs as required

  • Carry out all health and safety checks/procedures and maintain accurate ongoing records

  • Take pride in helping to maintain and develop our buildings and grounds

  • Have good DIY skills, undertake a range of repairs, maintenance and decorating

  • Work effectively as part of a highly successful school team

Hours of Work

  • 25 hours per week (preferably split shift) 07:00-09:00, 15:30 - 18:30, Monday to Friday,

  • 52 week contract

 

Application Procedure

Role to start no later than 1st November 2021.

Experience is desirable, but training and an induction programme can be provided.
